Transformers - Watching Movies in March 2015

I thought I wrote about the Transformers movies before but I’m not sure? Watched the 1st 3 of the last 4 Transformers movies this past weekend. The newer the Transformer movie, the more issues I had with some things about it.

Transformers (2007):  I was crazy excited to go see this movie in the theater when I first came out. I had gotten so use to the Transformers cartoons so seeing them in a realistic movie was amazing.

In the beginning of this movie, I remember sitting there watching Blackout (the Decepticon helicopter) transform. Man!! That shit was cool was hell!! The detail and the noise as he transformed, then he set up like a mug. It was an “OOOH, WOW, DAMN” moment.

Although most of the Transformers were ugly, I dig the details of their looks. They looked more realistic, like they were actually vehicles that changed into robots. They were clean than a mug too.

I liked the personalities of the characters in this movie. Like, Ironhide, he was bad ass back in the 80s. Always ready for to “bust some Decepta chops” (or something like that). He was the same in the movie, just more of a bad ass.

I liked the new look (left) better than the 80s look (right). I couldn’t find a good picture of Ironhide from the movie. Even Optimus Prime’s personality was on point. The one who was off was Bumblebee’s personality. He wasn’t badass or cool back in the day. Somehow he became the more popular Transformer today. He went from a bug car to a Camaro, I can’t even trip.

The Decepticons were destructive than a mug in this movie. It’s like every time they transformed to rebots, they hit something, whether it was a poll or car. Especially in the highway scene, dude driving up the highway pushing cars, tossing cars, just tearing up shit.

Sam Whitwicky was pretty cool. I guess he was supposed to be the new day Spike (from the 80s). Spike hung with Bumblebee a lot back in the day and Sam’s car was Bumblebee. His girl, Mikaela, was pretty cool too. I’ve noticed in movies these days, there are a lot of goofy dudes pulling some good looking chicks.

Overall, this was a really cool ass movie. I call myself a Transformers fan but I’m probably not but I do really dig them. I’ve been watching Transformers all my life. I notice things in the newer Transformers movies and cartoons than to the old movie and cartoons. It’s a good thing to switch things up over time and they sure do it in the Transformers series.
