BarberShop - Watching Movies in March 2015

This will be my last movie blog for the month. I’ve dropped way too many but I’ve been watching lots of movies. Thinking about catching up on Love & Hip Hop. Haven’t seen the new shows or the one when they were in Hollywood. I keep hearing about Scandal and Empire so might watch one of those too. I’m due to watch a series. Any others out that are good, old or new?

BarberShop and BarberShop 2: I liked the first BarberShop more than the 2nd one. I’d give both movies one thumb up. I guess I never really paid much attention to how actors act until more recently. Ice Cube is not really a good actor. He is in some decent movies Like the Friday movies and All About The Benjamins. Haven’t been I a barbershop in years but the way they portrayed it in the movie is pretty much how it be. The shop talk and gossip, the variety of people hanging around, the regulars. I want to get ahold of the soundtrack to these.

Beauty Shop: In the middle of watching this movie now. It’s kind of a BarberShop spin off. I’m not really feeling it. I’m probably halfway through it so I’m just going to assume, it’s not going to get much better.

Dwight Howard: In the Moment: These documentaries around pretty cool. You get to see more personal stuff about the athletes. It’s like artist and actors, we hear their music or see them acting but we don’t know them personally. D. Howard seems like a good dude. I remember him in Orlando and being considered the “best big man in the game”. I mean, he didn’t really have anyone to compete with in the Center spot.

I’m not mad at home for enjoying what he does and just going out there to entertain in his own way. The NBA shouldn’t be all about winning championships every year because that’s not going to happen in real life. You might was well love your job and have fun doing it. Haters are going to hate.

Amar’e Stoudemire: In The Moment: Here’s another good dude, I’ve heard that he did things outside of the NBA. These guys make a lot of money and can make a difference because they have so many fans. Starting up a program and writing a book that is directed to towards young kids reading is a good idea. He said when you’re young, being smart is not cool but when you’re older, being smart is cool. That was true but kids have to realize that it’s ok to be smart as kids too.

Winning Time: Reggie Miller VS. The New York Knicks: I thought the title was kind of weird but it’s understandable. This took me way back into the 90s. I wasn’t a fan of Reggie Miller or the Knicks. That was the Jordon era and everybody was denied that championship. Watching this made me laugh, I had forgotten that Miller was a shit talker.
