Repentance - Watching Movies in March 2015

This will be my last movie blog for the month for sure.

Repentance: Someone brought this movie to my attention a while back and it finally showed up on Netflix recently. I didn’t like it really. I’m not really into Forest Whitaker movies, seems like he’s always playing a crazy character. I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone, psst.

Scenic Route: This was one of those movies that show after you watch a movie, which was Repentance. I clicked up and fell asleep before it started but I started watching it from like the 30 minute mark or so. It was mostly just two guys, stuck in the desert, talking.  A lot of dialogue basically. It had the feeling for one of those movies that where everything is good in the beginning then everything just goes to shit. The ending was the best part of the movie. Besides that, this movie needed to be crumbled up and pitch in the nearest trash can, asap.

**SPOILER**

In the end, they made it were they guy with the Mohawk didn’t know if in reality or dreaming that he was back with his family or not. It kind of just ended up that so I don’t know if he was just tripping or if they were still lying out in the desert half dead.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: I thought this movie was pretty cool because it came from the video game Tomb Raider. The movie wasn’t too bad. I don’t remember watching it when it first came out but it was pretty good.

October Baby: A friend of mine really dug this movie and it had her emotional so I decided to check it out. Didn’t read the description to the movie. In the beginning a automatically assumed there would main character would die or something like that but the movie was nothing like that. It was actually a decent movie.

BarberShop - Watching Movies in March 2015

This will be my last movie blog for the month. I’ve dropped way too many but I’ve been watching lots of movies. Thinking about catching up on Love & Hip Hop. Haven’t seen the new shows or the one when they were in Hollywood. I keep hearing about Scandal and Empire so might watch one of those too. I’m due to watch a series. Any others out that are good, old or new?

BarberShop and BarberShop 2: I liked the first BarberShop more than the 2nd one. I’d give both movies one thumb up. I guess I never really paid much attention to how actors act until more recently. Ice Cube is not really a good actor. He is in some decent movies Like the Friday movies and All About The Benjamins. Haven’t been I a barbershop in years but the way they portrayed it in the movie is pretty much how it be. The shop talk and gossip, the variety of people hanging around, the regulars. I want to get ahold of the soundtrack to these.

Beauty Shop: In the middle of watching this movie now. It’s kind of a BarberShop spin off. I’m not really feeling it. I’m probably halfway through it so I’m just going to assume, it’s not going to get much better.

Dwight Howard: In the Moment: These documentaries around pretty cool. You get to see more personal stuff about the athletes. It’s like artist and actors, we hear their music or see them acting but we don’t know them personally. D. Howard seems like a good dude. I remember him in Orlando and being considered the “best big man in the game”. I mean, he didn’t really have anyone to compete with in the Center spot.

I’m not mad at home for enjoying what he does and just going out there to entertain in his own way. The NBA shouldn’t be all about winning championships every year because that’s not going to happen in real life. You might was well love your job and have fun doing it. Haters are going to hate.

Amar’e Stoudemire: In The Moment: Here’s another good dude, I’ve heard that he did things outside of the NBA. These guys make a lot of money and can make a difference because they have so many fans. Starting up a program and writing a book that is directed to towards young kids reading is a good idea. He said when you’re young, being smart is not cool but when you’re older, being smart is cool. That was true but kids have to realize that it’s ok to be smart as kids too.

Winning Time: Reggie Miller VS. The New York Knicks: I thought the title was kind of weird but it’s understandable. This took me way back into the 90s. I wasn’t a fan of Reggie Miller or the Knicks. That was the Jordon era and everybody was denied that championship. Watching this made me laugh, I had forgotten that Miller was a shit talker.

Update of March 2015 Goals

Hit some rough air pockets this month. The turbulence is real! Haven’t touched anything in the bedroom this month. The mess that I left is still watching me each day. Started my work out on the 1st of the month but in the past week and a half, worked out maybe twice and a couple of attempts. Been slacking really bad this month. NO EXCUSES.

The push-ups and sit-ups aren’t going to happen this month. Going to continue where I left off and just do what I can for the rest of the month but I’m not going to do them every day to get caught up. Not sure what I’m going to do to make it up to myself if I even do anything.

I have been putting Lego together, even got around to writing about it so that’s been going pretty good. Got probably about a 3rd of them put together. Thinking about stopping at the end of the month so I can work on other things but not sure yet.

A Perfect Ending - Watching Movies in March 2015

A Perfect Ending: Didn’t really know what to expect when I first started watching this. It turned to be half decent. It’s a about older woman who had never experienced passion or an orgasm. Her lesbian friends recommended that she pay to hook up with a woman. She ended up falling in love with a young “prostitute”. It gets a bit steamy; passionate and sexual than a mug. The older woman was a cutie but her cuteness turned into sexy, in some parts of the movie.

This is nothing I’d recommend to anyone, it was ok over all. I was digging the sex scenes. The story was ok.

Strictly Sexual: This movie was kind of weird how the 2 chicks went about it but it was the perfect set up for everyone. Pretty much, 2 chicks went out looking for sex. They ran into 2 guys, who were hurting financially, at the bar. These chicks basically wanted to pay the 2 guys for sex. Eventually, the chicks hired the 2 guys to work for them around the crib, gave them a place to stay and the guys had to have sex with the chicks whenever they wanted it. Sounds like a plan. Things got weird with one of the couples but in the end things worked out, for the most part.

Overall, the movie was ok. Nothing to be excited about and I wouldn’t go around saying it’s a must see.

Lego Creator

Started working on putting together Lego Creator sets in February. Not sure why I choose Creator? I’m more into the sets with minifigures but Creator has some cool stuff also. I wanted to put something together real quick just to show you how I go about deciding which set I will put together usually.

I write down all the sets’ model number in the group or groups I’m going to work on.

You may not be able to see it too good in the picture. I wrote the numbers in red on the sheet of the paper. The model number is usually 4 or 5 numbers. If I have 2 or more of one set, that’s how many times I’ll write that model number down. Then I cut each number off the paper.

Then I fold each one and put them into a container.

The container is so I can shake them up, reach in and pick a number. That’s how I’ve been choosing which set to work on since the past Summer. Thinking about putting each group of Legos I have in a container to choose which one I to work on next time.

The first number I a draw was

31017 is the Sunset Speeder. I dig the orange and black.

This was a small one so if didn’t take long to put together.

One of the cool things about the Creator sets is most of them are 3 in 1, meaning you can choose from 3 different things to put together. I have 2 of these sets in the mix so I went with the race car first. It’s a pretty cool ride, small but cool. Didn’t really get a good a picture of it, it’s kind of hard for me to get the right angle plus it doesn’t really show how big it is.

Grouped together all the cool Lego Creator sets I have, in my opinion of course.

So far, I’ve put together about 15 sets. Put together all the cool ones in the picture except the brown crib at the bottom with the white tree. The blue plane is huge. It made me wonder what the Star Wars ships are going to look like. The blue plane also has a blue hoover craft as one of the things you put together so I’ll probably take it apart and put the hoover craft together one day. I’m feeling that yellow four wheeler, it’s my favorite so far.

Here’s a couple of sets that didn’t make the cool list but turned out to be decent.

Legos trip me out sometimes. The little guy in the small cottage picture is holding a polish that came off the grill. Can’t really see the grill but it’s to his right in the corner.

Drew a number yesterday but haven’t started working on it yet.

It’s the biggest Lego Creator set I have. The Creator sets don’t label the bags like the other Lego groups usually do. You have to pretty much sort all the pieces, sorting 1023 pieces isn’t going to be fun at all. It’s going to take up a lot of space and time. It’s a good thing a got 6 ft folding table back around Black Friday. Putting this set together on the floor or in front of the computer wouldn’t have been fun.

I might not get very many Creator sets in the future unless I really like it or it’s on clearance. I want to stick to certain groups like Star Wars, Super Heroes and Lego City, it’s not working out that way though. I’ll have plenty more to show y’all in the future. More cool ones, weird ones and some that I couldn’t left in the store.

I will be putting this one together at some point soon, just because I dig this mug.

I’m big into Tie Fighters. If I can somewhere get my hands on another one of the Tie Fighters I bought a couple of years ago, that’s extra cheap, I will.
